Personality:
The first thing you have to understand to understand Patrick, is that he is ruled first by his heart, and then his ego. His brain has clearly wandered off after having become bored of the other twos' antics.
As the wiki says, he will always strive to be the centre of attention, executing grand entrances wherever possible to make sure people remember him. He is completely convinced of his own superiority, but not in an arrogant way, just a complete ignorance that there could be anyone greater than Patrick Colasour at any mortal task. One of his major quirks is the sheer enthusiasm with which he carries out any task or mission which, paired with his obsessive superiority complex, can make for grandiose declarations either before or during tasks about how he will win through and complete his labours for fair lady's heart.
Which brings us to the next point of his character, his absolute love of life and more specifically, women. He truly does believe himself God's gift to women, although later he confines this view to being God's gift to Colonel Kati Mannequin. As with all things, his approach to women is single minded, enthusiastic, and takes absolutely no account for failure in mind. As such, it is almost in possible for Patrick to feel rejection because he would not realise he was being rejected.
The last point really, is his single mindedness that was mentioned before. Once Patrick gets an idea in his head he will NOT let it go whether it be the love of a beautiful woman, a grudge born of defeat at the hands of a rival, or simply just someone making an idle comment to him that he doesn't stop talking about for days if not weeks. Obviously this can be incredibly annoying for all those concerned.
Patrick is incredibly emotional, and while his emotions are nearly always positive they can often get him into trouble. If he were to be rebuked by his beloved then he would probably start to cry for example, and overreact in general to any situation he is placed in.
History:
We are not told anything at all about Patrick's past before season one of Gundam 00, so the following is completely fictitious and made up by me; please keep your arms and legs inside the head-canon at all times.
Patrick was born in Paris to a family of wealthy Parisians, and he was spoiled rotten from the word go. He was pampered and humoured by everyone in his life, especially the women. As you can guess things only got worse from then on. He went to a very privileged private school and this just reinforced his already swelling ego, and it also coincided with his discovery of the fairer sex. He graduated with passable marks and went on to do an arts degree, in media studies. He bombed out of the course, but he met an unimaginable amount of girls in his time there as he was the only guy on the course.
After university, he floated around society, trying his hand at just about every career imaginable but succeeding at none of them. As an artist, he spent most of his time chasing his models. As a lifeguard he just couldn't face giving CPR to unattractive women and MEN. Eventually he settled on the military because it got him out from his parents gazes, as they were frantic with horror at appearing with him in society, and he got a spanking uniform that the chicks loved.
He actually started his life as a suit pilot by accident, as the woman he was chasing at the time was starting the training at the time. His fast reflexes and dextrous fingers had him lapping the course at the training grounds easily; and the extra time he put in on the simulator with the female instructor didn't hurt either as he was incredibly familiar with a cockpit come the end. He qualified as a pilot with top honours, one of the few things he has ever done in his life on his own merits. A fact he'd be proud of if he weren’t proud about everything he is proud of everything he does.
Strengths: All joking and snide comments about his record aside, Patrick is a phenomenal pilot, he just sucks at fighting. In all true sense of the phrase, Patrick is a lover not a fighter. He can probably fly most anything in any conditions, although there wouldn't be much call for that in Crucible. He is most likely a decent shot outside of a suit too, his fast reflexes and absurd luck keeping him safe in a firefight as well as they do in suit combat.
His main strength, as previously stated, is in the realm of romance. His absolute confidence combined with the fact that he will single-mindedly pursue one woman to the exclusion of all other, tends to win him the game. This is tempered somewhat though by the fact that he very rarely pursues a woman who isn't already simpering over him because of his uniform/accent/looks/etc.
His single-minded enthusiasm is also a strength in itself, he will never ever give up unless he simply grows bored, which probably happens depressingly often. When conditions are bad, and there looks like no hope of rescue coming over the nearest hill, however annoying he may be Patrick will always be the one to look on the bright side and get people going again; whether it be by peppy prep talks or sheer wheedling and annoyance until they break down and give in.
Weaknesses:
Patrick is a huge failpie. No, seriously, he is the classic failure at everything he tries to do; he just doesn't let this get him down however. If he were to take up baking, he would burn everything, smile and use the burnt cookies as throwing stars and run around pretending to be a ninja for the rest of the day. While this may not get him down, he will never admit he cannot do something, and therein lies his weakness. He is overconfident, and anyone with half a brain and some base cunning could take advantage of this, as he is easily lead by a stronger personality than himself.
Also because of his huge ego, and the fact that his mindset leaves no room for failure. If he were to fail at something huge, and be made to face up to this, it would probably destroy him. The death of a loved one or something similarly dramatic would tip him over the edge, his own superiority complex blaming himself entirely for the mistake either rightly or wrongly.
Leading on from this, Patrick is incredibly emotional [rushes back up the screen to add this to personality!] as is now discussed above. Rebukes from people he cares for, injuries, watching a romantic or tragic film, any of these things would have Patrick bawling his eyes out and running out of tissues in a flash. Oh, and never withhold the cookie jar unless you want to drown in tears. Don't even try and imagine what would happen if a woman broke his heart.

Patrick drove up to his beloved's house early, preparing himself in the car whilst he watched the house. Ah, he could just feel a connection with the fair damsel within already! This was the one! He reached into his glove compartment and pulled out his special supplies. First he dabbed on a little rouge to brighten up his cheeks, and a few eye drops to make his eyes glisten a little. Experience had taught him that women were more likely to fall prey to their own wooing techniques, and hey, if it worked it worked. Not that the great Patrick Colasour needed any props nor romantic aids. All women trembled before his prowess in the bedroom! After that, a quick mint and some mouth spray followed by a little flossing to remove anything from his teeth.
This woman was special, he could feel it, and he had felt it from the moment he had laid eyes on her. Or more accurately, the moment she had laid hands on him. Kati Mannequin! Even the very name was like ambrosia on the tongue; he sighed audibly. He fiddled with the ribbon on the roses that he had bought. He had panicked a bit when he had bought them, trying to find flowers that would do her justice! Ah well, time to go and meet fate and shake it by the hand! He got out the car and, with only a slight delay to check his hair in the wing mirror, he headed up the path.
No woman could resist the charms of Patrick Colasour! He had planned this moment for days, ever since he'd found himself getting up off of the floor at their first meeting. He had hurried away and formed his plan, finding out her schedule and her habits. He rang the bell. It was all in the planning, the perfect plan would fit into place and he would sweep her off her fe-
"Yeah? What do you want?"
"Er, Colonel Mannequin?"
"Next house over!"
The door slammed, leaving Patrick's pride slightly bruised but he quickly got up and ran, vaulting the fence that separated him from his beloved Colonel! Or at least he tried; he fell in a thorn bush on her side of the fence and skewered himself on his precious Colonel's precious rose bushes. Patrick limped away and decided to wait until tomorrow to try again.
